These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of SolarVsGrid (the “Site”), including calculators, guides, and related features (collectively, the “Services”). By using the Services, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy.

1. Who we are

2. Not professional advice

The Services are for informational and educational purposes only and do not constitute financial, legal, engineering, or tax advice. Calculators use assumptions and user-provided inputs that may not reflect your situation. Always verify with your utility, qualified installers, and relevant professionals before making decisions.

3. Use of the Services

• You may use the Services for personal or internal business purposes in compliance with these Terms and applicable law.
• Do not misuse the Services, including by attempting to access non-public areas, interfering with operation, scraping at unreasonable rates, or introducing malware.
• We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Services at any time.

4. Accounts & user content

We currently do not require accounts. If you contact us or submit content, you grant us a non-exclusive license to use that content to operate and improve the Services. You represent that you have rights to any content you submit and that it does not infringe third-party rights.

5. Share links & data in URLs

Some calculators offer shareable links that encode your inputs in the page URL (e.g., ?S=, ?L=). Anyone with the link can view those values. Avoid placing sensitive information in calculator fields if you plan to share a link. See our Privacy Policy for details.

6. Third-party links, ads, and quotes

We may display house ads or third-party ads and link to external sites, including quote providers or installers. We do not control third-party sites and are not responsible for their content or practices. Your dealings with third parties are solely between you and them.

7. Intellectual property

The Services, including text, graphics, logos, and code, are owned by SolarVsGrid or its licensors and are protected by applicable laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works except as permitted by law or by written permission. You may link to our public pages and share non-substantial excerpts with attribution.

8. Disclaimers

THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT CALCULATIONS OR CONTENT ARE ACCURATE, COMPLETE, RELIABLE, CURRENT, OR ERROR-FREE.

9. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SOLARVSGRID AND ITS AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, OR USE, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH THE SERVICES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICES WILL NOT EXCEED USD $100.

10. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless SolarVsGrid from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or related to your use of the Services or violation of these Terms.

11. Changes to the Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If changes are material, we may provide additional notice (e.g., banner). Continued use of the Services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

12. Governing law; venue

These Terms are governed by the laws of your locality’s appropriate jurisdiction (set the governing law you prefer). Any disputes will be resolved exclusively in the courts located there, unless applicable law provides otherwise.
